When we think of turtles, the fairy tale of “tortoise and the hare” always comes to mind.
It is a translated story based on Aesop’s fables brought over from Greece around 1600 AD, that you too probably have memories of being read aloud in a picture book as a child. There seem to be various interpretations of the interaction between the fast-paced rabbit and the slow-paced tortoise. Both after results. It would seem that there is a lesson to be learned.

We often see such turtles and hares on the adjusters on the suspension of mountain bikes that are familiar to us. Interestingly, they are used not only in the bicycle industry, but also in the speed dials of many industrial products such as sewing machines and lawn equipment. It may be an icon called both representing slowness inside.

This mud guard, which expresses the distinctive pattern of the turtle’s shell, commonly known as “tortoise shell”, through the timeless craftsmanship of Honjo Koken, is one of the SimWorks by Honjo products that has captured the hearts of cyclists and tourers around the world. We find it here now, back in the spotlight.

Tthe Turtle 63 offered this time has become a SimWorks original model, following Turtle Bell after joining hands with Honjo Koken. It is a very special mudguard for us, as we hope it will be for you as well.

Take your journey slowly, but surely…

Nekome Reflector – form and function to keep you safe at night

For all customers who have ordered a full fender set including the Turtle 63 from the SimWorks online store until the end of May, Nekome Reflector will be included as a bonus. With the rainy season in Japan just around the corner, it would be a good idea to combine a cat and a tortoise in lieu of a hare.
