SYCIP × SIMWORKS JJJ Bar — A Handlebar To Expand Your Playground

The JJJ Bar—designed by Santa Rosa, California–based framebuilder Jeremy Sycip—has been updated with a wider 720 mm stance. The 31.8 mm center clamp area has also been extended, giving you more room to mount lights, computers, and other accessories. With refreshed graphics as well, it’s a bar that lets you realize your bike with a clean, new feeling!

In SimWorks’ early days, our work wasn’t just about product development—we were also deeply involved in importing frames from American builders and building relationships with them. Many of the builders we grew close to weren’t just skilled in technique and design; they were playful, imaginative, and created things with a kind of effortless genius. Jeremy Sycip was very much one of these people.

The JJJ Bar first appeared in 2016. Looking back at the original release, this handlebar was actually designed for a DIY e-bike that Jeremy and his friends built so they could ride into the mountains and have BBQs. Long before gravel riding, trail touring, and e-bike adventures became the common occurrences they are today, they were already out there having fun in those novel ways.

The JJJ Bar was born from the commuter-focused JJ Bar, reimagined with a bit more rise to suit off-road riding. Jeremy’s knack for anticipating how people want to ride—and then turning that vision into a realized product—is a stroke of genius. And beyond its specs, with a modest 20mm rise and a 54° grip angle, you can see in the photos how beautifully the bar’s smooth, flowing curves are shaped. That elegance is a testament to Jeremy’s talent.

The new JJJ Bar is right at home in the city and on gravel. It pairs perfectly with front racks and bags, and if you flip it upside down, you can even give your setup a slightly racier feel. Give it a try and see where it takes you.
