SMOOTH 60 FOR 26″ – Simworks by Honjo

A bicycle with fenders
In Japan, there is a bicycle culture called mamachari, and regardless of their quality, mamachari are widely used for commuting to work, school, and daily life. These mamachari almost always have fenders.
A bike with fenders gives a glimpse into the lifestyle of the owner who rides it every day. They offer the bike a more utilitarian and robust impression; not like a pet, but like a dog that has been contracted to hunt or protect against crime. It has the persuasive power of a practical tool.
Of course, bikes are not limited to mamachari. As we covered in the introduction of HOMAGE, the old 26-inch MTB has enough performance for daily life and recreation, so we wanted to produce a new fender for the 26-inch platform to offer even more utility and 4-season versatility to these capable bikes.
Intended not only for riding in the rain, but also with the added benefit of protection from a recent rain shower or when cycling through puddles on gravel roads, you can often find yourself reminded of their usefulness.

Aesthetics of fender installation
Fenders reflect not only the lifestyle of the rider, but also the aesthetics of the person wearing them. There are various ways to attach fenders to suit your frame, and they require deliberate installation techniques including drilling holes and bending stays. Fender lines and tire clearances are also important.
When I see a bike with a thoughtfully installed fender set, I can see the skill of the mechanic, and it pleases me to imagine the steps and ingenuity put forth by the installer- knowing that a tast approached methodically will yield a more satisfactory result.

Fenders are perfect for 26-inch daily bikes
Last spring, SimWorks released the Volummy 26 x 2.3 tire, a fantastic all-round daily use option. It fits perfectly with these new 26″ Smooth 60 fenders, so we encourage pairing them for a bike that will serve you well in a range of conditions and environments.
