When we created the patches for the new SimWorks cycling bag collection “Sim Loaders”, we wanted to set some aside and do something fun with them! And so we schemed on it and designed to sew some to some great Hooded Sweatshirts, and now they’re here!

Hooded sweatshirts are universally beloved garments because they quickly warm us up on cool mornings and evenings during the shoulder season when we experience those big shifts in temperatures. We love that this design is casual, understated, and easy to incorporate into everyday life.

It’s marketed as “Heavyweight”, but I don’t think it’s too much. I had one on recently in a (rare) warm, sunny day in February, and even with that temp around 60 degrees, I found it comfortable and cozy.

Available in two colors: Dusty Sage and Charcoal Heather. These neutral colors go well seamlessly with a pair of jeans or chino pants. Depending on the season, you can layer one over a T-shirt or choose one a size larger and wear it over heavier layers to stay comfortable without a jacket.

Many brands sell hooded sweatshirts, and I myself own and adore several from some of my favorite brands. It’s a common merchandise offering, but these simple designs are a great way to express your admiration towards a group you respect.

We’ve been receiving requests for SimWorks original/hooded sweatshirts for years, and so we’re pleased to have them available now. Thankfully our “Sim Loaders” project lit the fire under us to finally get it done!

This past weekend, we sent Rie from SimWorks USA on photo assignment to capture some of her adventurous life and to share some hoodies with friends in their natural environments. She got some great snaps filming at the beach, at the breakfast table, on the riverbank, and some other spots that are common in her life on the go.

… and this we suppose, is the point. Hoodies are a wardrobe staple for so many people because they can be worn almost anywhere.

SimWorks USA is based in Portland, Oregon here in the Pacific Northwest, which typically receives the most rainfall in the United States, making the hoodie a perfect garment to fend off the cold and damp environment. The period from July to September is relatively warm and there are many sunny days, so I would venture to say that these are the only months when I’m fortunate to not wear long-sleeves during the day. But even in the evening hours, they’re still great to wear when biking home late at night or sitting by the fire while camping. They’re often thrown on for an early morning walk on foggy beaches or thrown on for comfort and a quick blast of warmth after a tough day of riding MTB trails.

All of this is to say that we hope you love our new hoodies, that they bring you warmth and comfort, that it feels simple and stylish, and that you can enjoy it while laughing and reminiscing with your loved ones. We hope you can continue to wear them for many years to come.
