Let’s Ride and Enjoy Coffee Outside!

Bringing your coffee brewing equipment along on your bike and heading out to brew and drink a cup of coffee outside is a completely different experience than receiving a coffee in a to-go cup at a coffee shop, and it makes you feel special. Savoring that coffee slowly in nature enriches the soul.

My favorite is the Pour Over method, but I also often use the AeroPress to make an Americano-style coffee.

The Best Moment of Making Coffee

And when it comes to beans, I definitely recommend grinding your own whole beans. The aroma of freshly ground coffee is wonderful, and the moment you open the grinder, the aroma that spreads out is irresistible, relaxing both your mind and body. I want more people to have this same experience.

My recent recommendation is the new version of the Porlex Grinder. I’ve been using the Porlex Grinder for decades, but this new model can be adjusted to 60 levels, can grind ultra-finely for espresso, and works perfectly with the AeroPress. The Mini size in these photos can grind one cup of beans (about 30g) for one Aero Press. Pour 200-250ml of hot water in to our KINTO x SimWorks Insulated Coffee Tumblers 350ml (12oz) If you brew it in this way, it won’t cool down for six hours, so you can enjoy it slowly without rushing.

SimWorks Good Vibes Blend Coffee by Elevator Coffee

The Good Vibes Blend offered by SimWorks is an original blend by Portland roaster Elevator Coffee. In fact, Elevator was selected as the 2023 US Roasting Champion! Their Head roaster Andrew competed in the world championships in Taipei, becoming the first American to win third place! (For more information, please visit Elevator’s official website.)

When I first encountered Elevator’s coffee beans, I was so impressed that I thought, “It has no peculiar taste, it’s easy to drink, it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had!” and I gave it to many people as gifts and souvenirs. With the desire to share this taste with more people, I created a collaboration blend with SimWorks.

Coffee Tips

Good Vibes Blend is a medium roast on the lighter side. We recommend grinding it a little finer than usual to bring out the richness of the coffee (however, everyone has different preferences, so please adjust according to your taste). The 150g bag that we offer, is a great place to start and see if you enjoy the flavor.

Recommended Gear for Your Coffee Outside Ride

SOTO Helix Coffee Dripper

It can be easily carried in a bag. It is compact and perfect for outdoor coffee. It is a very popular item at SimWorks USA.

Reusable Cotton Coffee Filter

The original 100% linen cotton filter made in Japan by Shizuoka Coffee Roaster IFNi Roasting & Co. These fit perfectly in the SOTO dripper. Just a quick wash with water will remove bean residue and they dry quickly.

SOTO WindMaster Stove

The WindMaster has an ignitor button that makes it easy to light! It has a strong flame and boils water quickly.

Barista Bag Shoulder / Handlebar Bag

Anyone can become a barista and serve coffee wherever they go!
This cute SimWorks “Barista Bag” is a shoulder bag and handlebar bag. I wanted to make a cute pouch that can be attached to a bike and easily carried on the shoulder, so I asked Cody at Jack Supply in Portland to make it for me.

It keeps drinks cold (below 8°C) or warm (above 65°C) for six hours, so any coffee or drinks you don’t finish stay warm (or cold) and you can drink them at your own pace without rushing, which is why I love it.
