Allez LA x SimWorks Limited Edition Konbini Bag & SimWorks Dealer Spotlight

The KONBINI BAG, a compact and practical, handlebar bag we developed with Cody of Jack Supply Co and initially offered in collaboration with our friends at CHRIS KING, has distinguished itself as one of our most popular bags. Today, we’re excited to introduce a limited-edition version created in collaboration with our longtime friends at Allez LA, one of LA’s most iconic bike shops.
Allez LA, located in Highland Park, Los Angeles, is not only one of SimWorks’ most passionate and trusted partners, but also one of our VIP dealers. The shop was founded in 2023 by Kyle Kelley, former owner of Golden Saddle Cyclery, and Shawn Wolf, owner of King Kog Brooklyn, another long-standing and distinguished SimWorks dealer. Together, they brought a wealth of experience and a shared vision to create a bike shop rooted in community, culture, and quality. They’re deeply embedded in the local cycling scene, always finding ways to share the joy of riding and connect people through bikes, events, and thoughtful storytelling.

While we’ve shared many great memories and projects with Kyle over the years, our story with Shawn began with a dose of serendipity. Before SimWorks had officially entered the U.S. market, Shinya (our founder), Ryota, and I (Rie) took an East Coast trip to explore the cycling scene. Completely unaware of King Kog Brooklyn, we happened to pass by a small bike shop in Brooklyn and decided to stop in. That shop was King Kog, and it was where we first met Shawn. It was a chance encounter that planted the seeds of a long and meaningful relationship that has now lasted over a decade.
Every time I return to LA, Kyle and Shawn, and even the people in LA cycling community warmly welcome me and SimWorks, and I always see familiar faces around the shop, and I always get to meet new people as well. That warm, steady ‘Good Vibes’ energy makes us feel right at home and keeps us wanting to come back. Those positive vibes are what motivated us to want to create a collaborative product together.
So when we talked to Kyle and Shawn about an idea to collaborate on a bag, we instantly knew what to do. Our Konbini Bag, compact, versatile, and proven design would be the perfect canvas. The bag took shape with some special edition fabric colors, a custom patch and some Allez LA designed headset caps- direct nod to the Los Angeles city flag colors. All details that reflect both the identity of Allez LA and the shared history between us.

A One-of-a-Kind Design Blending Allez LA’s Style with SimWorks’ Signature Form
This special collaboration Konbini Bag comes in three limited-edition colorways:
- Allez LA (Turquoise × Coral × Yellow) – Inspired by the painted mural on Allez LA’s storefront painted by Cache
- Pacific Blue – A nod to the expansive blue of the California coast
- El P Green – Named after Shawn’s favorite trail, El Prieto trail in Los Angeles
Each bag features a bungee cord that secures to a set of custom-designed headset caps by Allez LA, helping to cinch the flap tightly and enhancing both the aesthetics and weather resistance. A special-edition collaboration LA patch is sewn onto the flap, adding a distinctive finishing touch that completes this unique design.

SimWorks Dealer Spotlight: Allez LA
We caught up with Kyle and Shawn recently and picked their brains about the shop, their cycling community in Los Angeles and what they’re excited about going forward
About Allez LA
1. When did you start Allez LA and what inspired you to open the shop?
We opened Allez LA in July 2023. Shawn was moving to LA at the time, and we both have young children, and thought we could support each other’s families and run the shop together while trying to spend more time with our kids. It felt like the right moment to create something together.
2. How would you describe the vibe or mission of the shop?
Our mission is just to get as many people in LA on bicycles as possible, from young kids to retirees. We just want everyone to feel like a kid again, and to tap in to that youthful joy of riding a bike.

Your Community
3. Who are your regulars? What kinds of riders come through the shop?
We still see a lot of the original GSC clients, but we’re constantly seeing new faces in the shop. We love seeing young families carrying their kids on bicycles, and seeing the younger generation come through and develop their own relationships with the shop.

4. Are there any local events, group rides, or things you do with the cycling community?
My goal is to help and uplift other people’s events. I try to promote community engagement through social media to broaden reach, and I hope to pass the torch as much as possible. I love sharing my love for bikes and building community through social media, weekly rides, meetups, that kind of thing.

Working with SimWorks
5. What made you want to carry SimWorks at Allez?
My biggest thing at the shop is supporting friends since SimWorks has always shown us true friendship. They’ve been extremely generous and supportive to our shop and the Los Angeles cycling community as well.
6. Do you have any favorite SimWorks products – personally or customer favorites?
My all-time favorite is the Smog Cutter handlebar. I’ve still got a few pairs available.
My second favorite? Probably the new Allez LA x SimWorks handlebars that we’ve been working on! they’ll be really good too!

The Bike Scene & Beyond
7. What’s changing in the bike world lately? Anything you’re excited about?
To be honest with you, I’m not excited about the “industry” itself. But I am excited about people. More folks are riding bikes. I’ve been enjoying seeing Ron’s Bikes, creating handmade bicycles and stuff, I love seeing the American handmade products and they seem to be going strong.
I’m excited to go the MADE show for the first time later this summer. I’m also stoked for Tom LaMarche and his decision to move and set up shop on the West Coast.
Mostly I’m excited about people who ride all kinds of bikes with an open mind. I am just trying to keep an open mind in general, and surround myself with people that are trying to do the same.
8. Any new plans or projects at Allez you’re working on?
A lot of my plans right now are centered around my family and ensuring that our kids grow up in a positive environment, and focusing on being good parents. I absolutely love riding bikes with my kids. Grover (15 months) is already ripping around. He’s getting faster with off-road riding too.
Oh, and my wife Liz gave me permission to build a pump track in our backyard, so that’s happening!
Just for Fun
9. What’s your favorite local ride or cycling route?
Right now, my favorite ride is from my house to the Inglewood Pump Track and to session the pump track for a while. I have Liz, Grover, and Frieda meet me there, ride Pump Track, and then we all get to ride home together as a family.

During my stay in LA, I got to ride with Kyle at the Inglewood Pump Track
10. If you could take a dream bikepacking trip, where would you go?
My favorite region is Southern Utah. I’d love to take my whole family there for a couple of weeks and ride all kinds of bikes together.
11. Got a funny or unique shop story?
Ah man, always so many all the time! Our neighbor Louise who lives behind the shop, we helped teach his grandkids how to ride bicycles. We taught the older one- who was 3 at the time how to ride the first year we were open, then the younger kid the next year when he was just 2. So cool to be a part of starting that journey at a young age for people in our neighborhood and our community.
We try to make everybody at the shop ride bikes!
